Writing an ekphrastic poem

This month, we’re going to work on writing an ekphrastic poem.

Ekphrasis is a Greek word which at its root means ‘description’.

In poetry, it refers to a poem that has been inspired by a work of visual art.

The poet begins by paying very close attention to the art and making notes on the finer details.
